Rob Woodward is a freelance Saxophonist and Reeds player born in Stafford, UK. After three years directing his high school big band he played in the County Youth Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra before becoming, at age 17, Principal Saxophone of the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain. Shortly After this he began his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.
In 2005 Rob embarked upon three years working aboard cruise ships in the showband before moving to Sydney in July 2008 to be a freelance musician. Since living in Sydney Rob has written and regularly MD's three working tribute shows and has worked as an arranger for both the Sydney International Orchestra and Adelaide Cabaret Festival. In the field of education Rob lectures in musicianship and notation (Sibelius, Finale, Musescore) at the Australian Institute of Music. He is also a specialist in Adult education at The Music Practice in Surry Hills teaching Flute, Oboe, Recorder, Clarinet, Saxophone and Jazz Piano. He joins MusicEDU to help facilitate teacher training on the program ensuring all teachers are comfortable with the integration of technology into the classroom.
